Duties And Responsibilities
Carries out construction work in stone, brick, and reinforced concrete, including pre-cast and prefabricated structures.
Lays bricks, piping and ducting.
Works accurately from detailed plans and specifications.
Applies or removes mortar with a trowel
Seals foundations with damp resistant materials.
Uses spirit levels and plumb lines to check building alignment.
Uses hand tools, power tools and brick-cutting machines.
Repairs and maintains building blocks.
Measures out building areas and setting out the first rows of bricks and damp course.
Helps to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair.
Carries out finishing work on buildings
Any other related duties as assigned by the Superior.
Qualifications And Experience
5 ‘O’ level subjects including English Language and Accounts / Mathematics.
Class One Journeyman in Brick and Block Laying.
5 years-experience in a similar role.
