VACANCY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions which have arisen within Zaka Rural District Council.
REQUIREMENTS
1. A clean class 2 drivers’ licence
2. Ability to read and write
3. Possession of Certificate in Borehole Drilling Rig Operation from a reputable training institution is a must
4. A minimum of 1 year practical experience as a driller is a must (attach authenticated reference letters)
5. A defensive drivers’ certificate and qualifications in mechanics are an added advantage
6. No criminal record (Attach finger prints)
7. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
8. Ability to operate other earth moving equipment is an added advantage
9. At least 25-45 years
DUTIES
1. Driving and operating the borehole drilling rig as a driller on approved sites
2. Scan the drilling environment and adopt the correct drilling procedure and correct tools to avoid wastage of resources
3. Timeous log in of trips, fuel and oils drawn and drilling operations for accountability.
4. Reporting of faults to the immediate supervisor
5. Supervising rig crew for improved operational results
6. Recording and reporting of all drilling points made including status achieved
7. Cleaning and checking of functionality of the rig before use
8. Scheduling of drilling trips and taking custody of all drilling associated materials not limited to casings.
9. Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the supervisor
