Job Summary
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the following position is the Maintenance Department based in Harare.
Duties And Responsibilities
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Responsible for all steel fabrications, welding repairs and maintenance of all mechanical plant and machinery including filters, mechanical components, delivery trucks, trailers, pipes and pumps, steel and structural gates, burglar bars and screens.
• Welding repairs to trucks, machinery, plant and equipment
• Fabrication of burglar bars, steel structures and general fabrications
• Disassemble and reassemble plant and machinery
• Maintains the superstructure of machines
• Straightens bent panels on machines
• Checks for cracks on the superstructure and rewelds
• Implementation of procedures relating to health and safety in line with Factories Act
Qualifications And Experience
• Apprenticeship trained Boiler making (Fabrication Engineering) with 3 years post qualification experience or Trade tested Skilled Worker Class 1 Boiler Maker with 5 Years’ Experience
• 5 O’’ Levels passes including mathematics, Science and English
• National Certificate in Fabrication Engineering
• Knowledge of OHSAS 4500 and ISO 18001
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Safety and quality focused
• Experience with daily weekly, monthly, yearly adhoc maintenance schedule
• Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
• Working knowledge of wiring diagrams and ability to work on electrical repairs
• Time management skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
• Use of testing equipment to diagnose equipment breakdowns
• Excellent communication skills
• Thorough Knowledge of SHE and legal regulations and guidelines
