Job Summary
Required is a confident, caring and organised person to occupy the post of Boarding Matron for a newly established Senior boarding school in Chegutu .The successful candidate will ensure that learners’ wellbeing in the boarding facility is highly prioritised.

Duties And Responsibilities
Putting in place measures to ensure the effective supervision of boarding staff and the effective functioning of the Boarding House.
• Ensuring that the boarding policy is in place, updated when necessary and carefully adhered to.
• Responsible for the boarding assets, inventory, groceries, fixtures and fittings and ensuring all necessary repairs and maintenances are handled.
• Putting in place communication systems that enhances the Matron’s relations with key stakeholders both external and internal.
• Creating and safeguarding a safe, healthy and conducive environment that promotes learners wellbeing and encourage their learning.

• Assisting the learners with their homework on daily basis and ensuring study schedules are adhered.
• Ability to compile meaningful weekly, monthly and termly reports.

Qualifications And Experience
Minimum of a teaching or medical qualification or equivalent in relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience with demonstrable hands on dealing with learners.
• First aid knowledge is a must.
• A good listener with patience to interact with children and understand them.
• A highly observant person who easily notices when something happens in the boarding facility and in the leaners’ lives.
• A proactive person who takes charge in the absence of management in the interest of the learners.

• A mature individual with strong communication skills, teamwork and leadership capabilities.
