Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Bakery Specialist which has risen in a company in the retail sector. The position reports to the Country Manager. The position will be based at Head Office.

Duties And Responsibilities

The key deliveries for this position shall, inter alia, include

• Being responsible for the achievement of the department’s operational & financial goals in the company
• Ensure that the department’s goals for each branch are communicated and met within set time limits
• Make regular branch visits to support the growth of sales and maintenance of standards
• Analyzing the departments operating and financial performances and coming up with strategies aimed at improvements
• Continually come up with new products to ensure that the department remains relevant to evolving customer needs
• Develop and maintain a creative department layout and product merchandising
• Explore potential sales opportunities aimed at enhancing the departments profitability
• Perform market analysis of the competitors’ strategies and providing advice on appropriate counter measures
• Reinforce safety programs by enforcing compliance with various legislation governing Food preparation and as well as employee safety
• Train and develop staff within the department and participate in the performance review process
• Fosters and encourages a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect and exceptional morale
• Establish and implement a regional preventive maintenance programme
• Any other duties as delegated from time to time
