Position summary
Working under the supervision of the Chief of Party (COP), the Associate Director-Finance and Operations’ primary role is to manage, administer and direct the control of budgets and provide administrative oversight for the Project. S/he will manage the activities of the project’s finance and operations staff. S/he will be responsible for reviewing and approving recommendations for financial planning and control, providing relevant fiscal information to the Project Senior Management Team (SMT). S/he will manage internal financial audits and develop a formal reporting system to communicate results of audit activities to senior management, USAID and any regulatory compliance agencies. S/he will provide leadership and technical guidance for compliance with funder rules and regulations, FHI 360 policies and any applicable local legislation. S/he will oversee the selection, professional development and evaluation of assigned personnel to ensure the efficient performance of the function.
Qualifications and experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or its equivalent. MSc. /MA/M. Com degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or its recognized equivalent will be an added advantage. CA/CPA/ACCA or any other relevant professional accounting qualification. Minimum of 8 years’ financial management experience, with 5 years in a supervisory role. Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with various stakeholders and staff. Ability to read, write and speak fluent English, fluent in a host country language. Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO). Familiarity with U.S. government grants rules and regulations will be required.
