Mwenezi Development Training Centre [MDTC] is a vibrant community-based organization operating in Mwenezi, Chiredzi, Beitbridge and Masvingo districts. MDTC implements diversified community development and humanitarian programmes which are funded by various funding partners. The organization has the following vacancies to implement a SAFE (Stopping Abuse and Female Exploitation) funded programme by Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in Mwenezi District from August 2021 to March 2022. Reporting to Gender Project Officer
Duties And Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Conducts on-going training of local leaders, communities, and key stakeholders on gender programming as well as providing refresher trainings based on emerging gaps and needs
• Ensures gender mainstreaming in all project programming processes
• Support the development of tools, systems, and approaches that continuously improve technical excellence and impact in transformative approaches to women’s economic empowerment.
• Compiles and submits reports with analysed data on gender and report to the Gender Project Officer.
• Assist with quantitative/qualitative assessments in targeted communities to assess effectiveness and impact of interventions.
• Ensure gender equality and women’s economic empowerment activities are well integrated at community level
• Facilitate and support a strong learning and knowledge sharing community around gender-transformative practices.
Qualifications include:
• Bachelor’s degree in social science, development studies, gender, or related field; 2 years relevant experience; Community development knowledge and willingness to work in a rural environment.
• Knowledge and experience in facilitating gender interventions and training.
• Possession of class 3 or 4 driver’s license and ability to ride a motor bike is an added advantage
