 ASSISTANT MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN – FERUKA DEPOT

Job Summary

The position is responsible for carryout preventive and planned routine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

– Assists in repairing, refurbishing or replacing defective plant and perform corrective activities as required to restore plant and equipment performance
– Assists in carrying out preventative planned maintenance routines on scheduled plant and equipment
– Assists in recommending improvements to plant which address safety and plant improvement
– Assists in working towards improved equipment reliability as well as availability
– Attends to breakdowns and ensure they are resolved in the shortest possible time
– Assists in ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.

Knowledge and Skills

– Through understanding of PLC, SCADA, process control and PID systems
– Understanding of Quality Management System ISO 2015 and environmental, Health, safety requirements
– Sound knowledge and a background in petroleum systems, Automatic Tank Gauging and bulk loading meter system

Qualifications and Experience

– 5 “O” Level passes including English Language and Mathematics
– National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
– Apprentice Trained Mechanical Technician, Journeyman Class One
– At least 3 years relevant experience in the plant environment
