Position Title: Assistant Accountant – Debtors

Sable Foods, a leading name in the FMCG sector, is seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant – Debtors to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will provide critical support in debtor management, reconciliations, and financial reporting, contributing to the company’s overall financial health.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate debtors, creditors, and bank reconciliations

Process cashbook receipts and ensure timely allocations

Send weekly customer statements and monitor outstanding balances

Generate weekly and monthly debtor reports for internal review

Proactively follow up on outstanding payments with customers

Assist with the preparation and processing of month-end reports, budgets, cash flows, forecasting, and management accounts

Maintain an up-to-date external audit file in preparation for audits

Perform inventory reconciliations and assist in conducting stock counts

Carry out any other accounting duties as may be assigned by management
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role

Proficiency in Pastel Evolution, Sage 200, and Microsoft Excel

Sound knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial processes
-
Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
-
FMCG experience and knowledge of the FMCG customer base will be an added advantage
-
Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential
