First Capital Bank Zimbabwe is looking for a highly experienced Asset Management Officer to join the Procurement, Assets and Administration team, reporting directly to the Senior Procurement, Assets & Admin Manager. The ideal candidate is responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational oversight for the Bank’s property portfolio, physical assets, administration, Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), and security functions. The role ensures that all assets are efficiently acquired, accurately tracked, well-maintained, safeguarded, and fully compliant with regulatory and internal bank standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive cost-effective property management, lifecycle optimisation, and long-term value preservation across the bank’s real estate and asset base including overseeing all bank properties both owned and leased, ensuring their effective operation, maintenance, and upkeep, while managing vendor relationships and property budgets to achieve maximum value for the bank.
  • Strengthen the security and resilience of physical assets, enhances operational efficiency, and improves end-to-end asset lifecycle processes to support the bank’s strategic objectives and service delivery standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee the acquisition, allocation, utilisation, and disposal of bank assets.
  • Conduct quarterly asset verifications and reconciliations with Finance & Audit.
  • Coordinate building maintenance, renovations, space planning, and office fit-outs.
  • Liaise with landlords, valuers, government departments, and municipal authorities.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, repairs, and upgrades for all bank properties.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Oversee the physical security strategy for bank premises, assets, and staff.
  • Implement security systems, access controls, CCTV, alarm monitoring, and response protocols.
  • Liaise with security agencies, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to strengthen risk mitigation measures.
  • Ensure vendors meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal asset management policies and SOPs.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to asset and property management.
  • Implement strong internal controls to prevent asset loss, damage, or misuse.
  • Monitor and champion adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Property Management / Real Estate Management, Facilities Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in asset, property, security or facilities management.
  • Professional certification (e.g., PRINCE2, OSHEMAC, CIPS, ISO 55000 exposure).
  • Managing large and distributed property portfolios (owned and leased).
  • Overseeing asset lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and cost control.
  • Supervising SHE and security functions, including regulatory compliance.
  • Leading administration, facilities operations, and vendor management.
  • Managing budgets, financial planning, and value-for-money initiatives.
