Hwange Colliery Company Limited Holdings, a diversified local organisation with investment interests in Mining, Real Estate, Health Care,
Agriculture, Energy and Financial Services has a vacancy for the position of an Application Systems Administrator. Applications are
invited from suitably qualified candidates who meet the following minimum requirements.

Key Result Areas

• Install, configure, and maintain application systems and software
• Monitor application performance, implement changes, and apply updates and patches as needed
• Ensure application security and data integrity, perform regular backups and develop recovery plans
• Troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues and provide support to end-users
• Conduct root cause analysis for application issues
• Participate in system development
• Optimize application performance through tuning and configuration adjustments
• Document application systems configurations and procedures
• Stay updated with the latest application technologies and trends
• Assist in developing of application policies and procedures

Person Specification

• Attention to Detail: Precision in identifying and addressing security issues
• Experience in maintaining and monitoring network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, VPNs and wireless networks
• Experience with Cloud-based application solutions (e.g AWS, Azure, MS 365)
• Problem Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex security problems and develop effective solutions
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication to convey security policies and procedures clearly
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work well with IT staff and other departments to implement security measures
• Continuous learning: Commitment to staying updated with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies:
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks in a production environment
• Experience in Disaster recovery planning and implementation
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
• Certification in application administration
• Clean class four driver’s licence
• Minimum three (3) years proven experience in a similar position
Education and Professional Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Science/Information Technology Systems / Software Engineering
• Certification in relevant application systems, programming languages, and other platforms is an added advantage (e.g.,
Office 365, MS Windows Server)
• Master of Science in Engineering or a related field is an added advantage
