Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the chemical and nutritional value of feed raw materials
- Formulate effective least cost feeds that are competitive on the stock feeds market
- Liaise with producers and clients to understand their targets and objectives and the specific needs of the market
- Monitor feed formulations in order to meet quality performance and animal health standards
- Provide advice on nutrition to farmers, other animal owners, veterinarians and Government entities
- Carry out sales and marketing strategies following the launch of a new product
- Balance growing consumer interest in quality with the need to developing competitive livestock feeds
- Use software to formulate diets, conduct research and generate reports
- Investigate nutritional disorders and the safe storage of feeds.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Nutrition, Animal Sciences or equivalent from a reputable institution
- At least two (2) years of relevant practical experience
- A Master’s Degree would be an added advantage
- Advanced skills in MS Office
- Competences in FORMAT or any other feed formulation software
