Key responsibilities

1. Be able to formulate animal diets (all type)
2. Evaluate the chemical and nutritional value of feeds, feed supplements and forage for commercial animals.
3. Formulate diets and rations to maximise growth, reproduction, health and performance.
4. Liaise with producers and clients to understand their targets and objectives, and the specific needs of the market.
5. Design feed formulations to meet quality performance and animal health standards.
6. Provide advice on nutrition to farmers, other animal owners, veterinarians, etc
7. Rationalise animal feed manufacturing techniques
8. Expand existing ranges of animal food products and develop new ones
9. Maintain expertise in nutritional trends and keep up-to-date with regulatory changes.

Minimum requirements

• At least 1 year hands-on experience in the same line of animal nutrition.
• Higher National Diploma in Animal Nutrition from a recognised institution.
• Animal science degree will be an added advantage.
• Self-starter and good team leader.
