Mutapa Investment Fund (MIF) is the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Zimbabwe, mandated to create generational wealth and support the country’s long-term economic development. MIF manages a diverse portfolio of companies in Mineral Resources, Energy and Trading, ICT, Telecommunications & Logistics, Agriculture and Industrials, Banking & Financial Services and Real Estate sectors.

MIF seeks 6 highly motivated and skilled Analysts to join our Investment Team, reporting to the Cluster Head of above mentioned sectors.

Key Responsibilities

The Analyst will serve a critical function in the investment lifecycle, focusing on rigorous analysis, due diligence and portfolio support to drive value creation activities:

• Financial Modelling: Build and maintain comprehensive business models for portfolio monitoring, including financial models (DCF, comparable company analysis) for investment evaluation, divestitures and portfolio restructuring.

• Due Diligence: Support the full due diligence process for new investment opportunities, including market, commercial and financial assessments.

• Portfolio Monitoring: Interact frequently with portfolio company management, track, monitor and report on the operational and financial performance of existing investees, identifying areas for value creation and governance improvement.

• Reporting: Prepare comprehensive Investment Memos and presentations for the Cluster Heads, clearly articulating risks, returns and strategic rationale.

• Compliance: Ensure all investment analysis and recommendations adhere strictly to the Fund’s Investment Policy Statement.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education (Required): Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Actuarial Science/Mathematics, Economics or a relevant Sector-specific Degree.

• Professional Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications such as CFA (Minimum Level 1), Chartered Accountant, CAIA or IFoA – Associate or equivalent.
