Introduction
Bantwana Zimbabwe seeks experienced candidates for the AGYW Officer position, to be based in Bubi for a CDC/ZimTTECH-funded DREAMS program. The Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe women (DREAMS) program aims to reduce new HIV infections amongst adolescent girls and young women and will be implemented in four above mentioned Matabeleland North districts. Bantwana Zimbabwe will implement four core sets of interventions namely, i) HIV prevention, condom education, gender norms change, social assets building, and sexual violence prevention; ii) Education Subsidies including primary, secondary and Part-Time and Continuing Education support; iii) Combination of socioeconomic approaches for caregivers layered with positive parenting; and iv) Economic empowerment for AGYW (financial literacy, work readiness and employability trainings, vocational training for market-driven technical skills, internships).
The AGYW Officer will coordinate in-school education, HIV/GBV prevention and Social Asset Building Activities for out-of-school AGYW.
Duties And Responsibilities
Roles and responsibilities
Design and lead the implementation of strategies that create demand for and improve uptake of SRH/GBV and HIV services by AGYW and male sexual partners of AGYW; Provide leadership oversight and technical support in the implementation of HIV/GBV and gender norms change curricula for AGYW; Spearhead efforts to strengthen linkages between health facilities offering post-violence care, community victim friendly units and community volunteer structures; Analyze and monitor trends, opportunities and challenges related to creating demand for and uptake of SRH/GBV and HIV services by adolescents and male sexual partners of AGYW; Coordinate positive parenting activities using the Families Matter curriculum; Liaise with the M&E team in tracking and reporting related targets; Compile periodic progress reports; Keep abreast with, integrate or document emerging best practices in AGYW programming; Liaise with the M&E team in tracking and reporting related targets; Network and represent the project at various forums/stakeholders’ meetings
Qualifications And Experience
Qualifications
A Degree in Social Work, Social Studies, Developmental Studies, or any related field; At least 5 years of experience in implementing community-based programs; Demonstrated ability in project design and implementation of AGYW/Health/Social Protection programs; Experience in working with different stakeholders, preferably including experience in leading coordination efforts; Experience designing and developing programming for youth including adolescent girls and young women; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to work independently, take initiative and leadership; Familiarity with PEPFAR 3.0 and DREAMS AGYW programming priorities.
