AGRIBUSINESS CONSULTANT

 

 

Hwange Colliery Company Limited Holdings (HCCL Holdings), a diversified mid-tier company with business interests in Mining, Agriculture, Energy, Health, Real Estate, and Financial Services, seeks to engage the services of a dynamic and results-driven Agribusiness Consultant under the Hwange-Zambezi Agriculture Strategic Business Unit (SBU).

 

 

The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and collaborate with Unit Heads and Other Consultants within the organization.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and resource utilisation within the Agri-business unit.

• Design and implement sustainable agribusiness models that maximise value for the SBU.

• Support the SBU in setting and achieving profitability, growth, and sustainability targets.

• Analyse agricultural global and local market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain dynamics.

• Identify emerging opportunities and industry trends to inform strategic decisions.

• Develop market intelligence reports for internal and external stakeholders.

• Conduct due diligence and feasibility studies for targeted investment opportunities.

• Contribute to partnership development, acquisitions, and capital raising initiatives.

• Provide expert advice on agribusiness best practices, including climate-smart agriculture and resource conservation.

• Identify cost-saving initiatives and revenue-enhancement strategies.

• Liaise with contract farmers, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.

• Mentor on agribusiness technological innovations and industry-leading performance.

• Facilitate partnerships and collaborations across the agricultural value chain.

 

 

Qualifications

 

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Agriculture, or Agribusiness.

• A relevant Master’s degree will be an added advantage.

• Proven experience in agribusiness consulting or a related advisory role.

• Strong analytical, business modelling, and project management skills.

• Excellent communication and report writing abilities.

• Ability to engage in and manage complex discussions with diverse stakeholders.

• Knowledge of sustainable standards, market regulations, and agribusiness best practices.

• Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.

• Competence in market research, data analysis, and financial appraisal.

• Exposure to agribusiness management, project finance, and stakeholder management.

• High level of adaptability, innovation, and continuous learning.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
