• An opportunity has arisen within an organization focusing on access to justice and human rights that seeks the services of an advocacy and communications officer.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develops and implements the communications strategy;
• Implements the advocacy strategy working with the Advocacy,
• Communications and Research Coordinator;
• Organizes and conducts policy dialogues including meetings with parliamentary portfolio committees;
• Liaises with Media on behalf of the organization identifying opportunities for media advocacy;
• Engages with the media for awareness raising and advocacy;
• Produces press statements, releases, supplements and newsletters for the organization;
• Produces promotional material for visibility and awareness raising;
• Compiles and edits articles for social media and website;
• Prepares policy briefs and research papers;
• Represents the organization at press conferences and advocacy platforms.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in Journalism or Media or LLBS with media/ journalism background;
• Masters in Law / Masters in journalism or media;
• 4 years’ experience working as an Advocacy and Communications Officer in an NGO environment
