TRANSPORT MANAGER

We are hiring on behalf of our client a key player in the Iron and Steel Engineering sector for a business-minded Transport Manager. The Transport Manager role exists within the Logistics and Transport Division to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished iron and steel goods to both internal and external customers and hiring of equipment. The role is based in Bulawayo.

ABOUT THE ROLE – TRANSPORT MANAGER

• • Success in the role requires strong functional competencies in transport and fleet management, cost analysis and SHEQ compliance, combined with leadership skills in people management, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement.

  • The role directly impacts the company’s ability to deliver products on time, maintain customer satisfaction, and safeguard profitability through controlled logistics costs.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• • The ideal candidate should possess the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Transport/ Logistics or equivalent

    • Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) or equivalent membership

    • 5-7 years proven progressive experience managing transport operations in heavy industry/manufacturing/engineering/ mining environment

    • Proven experience managing heavy vehicle fleets, drivers and heavy equipment hire

    • Solid financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control

    • Proficiency in transport management systems

    • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
