ACCOUNTS INTERN/ATTACHEE

We are seeking a motivated, high-caliber Accounting or Finance student currently looking for an industrial attachment placement. This program offers comprehensive, hands-on exposure to corporate financial accounting, statutory tax compliance, ledger maintenance, and financial reporting under the close supervision and mentorship of senior finance personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Accounting & Ledger Maintenance: Perform daily transaction processing, post journal entries, handle accounts payable/receivable, and prepare monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations. Verify vendor invoices, credit notes, purchase orders, and payment vouchers.
  • Fixed Assets & Inventory: Assist with fixed asset register maintenance, depreciation calculations, physical asset verifications, and participate in stock-taking routines and cost accounting evaluations.
  • Financial Reporting & Budgeting: Support the compilation of monthly management accounts, variance analysis reports, expense trackers, and cash flow projections.
  • Tax Compliance & Statutory Filings: Assist in calculating and preparing monthly statutory tax schedules (VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, NSSA, ZIMRA/relevant tax returns) and maintain audit trails.
  • Treasury & Operations Support: Support daily petty cash management, petty cash expense auditing, and daily treasury routines.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Must possess an official attachment request letter from an accredited tertiary institution seeking industrial placement.
  • Strong numerical proficiency, high attention to detail, and a sound understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with MS Excel and accounting software packages is an added advantage.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and eagerness to learn.
