Job Purpose
Assists in providing clerical information to administration and accounts to facilitate the smooth flow of operations.
Main duties and responsibilities
Carries out banking by monitoring what payments are due and completing the necessary bank transactions.
Prepare all relevant clerical documentation for Head Office by organizing and ensuring that documents are readily available.
Keeps track of petty cash by verifying petty cash extracts from Regional and Head Office for reimbursements as per the approved cash requisitions.
Capturing data of receipts and payments for Regional and Head Office.
Monitors the cash book by logging in receipts and payments of money that come in for the agency.
Issuances items by recording issued items with details of where the item has been issued to and the dates of issue.
Monthly payroll inputting.
Job Skills and Competencies
High level of accuracy, attention to detail and thoroughness.
A team player with who is innovative and analytical.
Proficiency with Accounting software such as Sage Pastel.
Knowledge and practical application of Quality Management Systems (QMS) in particular ISO 9001:2015, will be an added advantage.
General Requirements:
At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and accounting processes is needed to standardise the classifications, assumptions and procedures used in accounting.
Knowledge of financial legislature is needed to align the organization with applicable laws and regulations.
Education
Diploma in Accounting, Finance or equivalent CIMA/ACCA/BACC.
Working Experience in public sector accounting environment is an added advantage.
