JOB DESCRIPTION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the vacant post of ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT x 2 (MUTARE REGIONAL OFFICE) that has arisen within the Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (ZIMDEF) – an equal opportunity employer.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all receipting and banking activities for the branch.
- Carrying out bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Prepare payment vouchers & make payments using SAP.
- Managing the branch’s cashflow on a daily basis.
- Capturing approved records into the SAP systems and launch the requisite vouchers.
- Liaising with the Bank on queries relating to bank statements.
- Monitoring of the branch’s expenditure against approved budget.
- Asset management to include security items.
- Issuing the inventory and monitoring the movement of stock items and reorder levels.
- Filing and maintaining of all relevant financial records.
- Monthly reports, quarterly half yearly and year end consolidation of branch income and expenditure.
- Preparation of routine accounting returns on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc.
Qualifications, Competencies and Work Competencies
- Degree in Accounting/Finance/equivalent degree
- A relevant higher qualification will be an added advantage
- At least three years’ relevant experience
- Clean class 4 driver’s license
