ACCOUNTANT: GRADE D
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced
candidates to fill the above-mentioned position that has arisen at
our Head Office.
Main purpose of the Job
Financial reporting, cost and management accounting of the organ-
isation. The successful candidates will report directly to the
Finance Manager.
Essential Competencies and Requirements:
- An accounting degree or equivalent.
- A full professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, LIMA,
CIS is essential.
- 2 years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of SAP system is a distinct advantage.
- Excellent analytical and computer skills.
- Must possess high conceptual skills and be innovative.
- Clean employment record.
Key Performance Areas:
- Report on company financials as per accounting standards.
- Production of the monthly financial and management reports.
- Analysing financial ratios and advising on the health of the
business to management.
- Preparation of budgets and reporting on same to management.
- Analysing actual results with budgeted position, investigate
cause of deviations and compile variance report and
recommend corrective action.
- Ensuring financial discipline through effective internal controls.
- Coordination of interim and final external audits.
- Planning and managing stock take and all month-end
procedures within set deadlines and to the required
professional standards.
- Oversee statutory returns as required by legislation.
- Supervision of junior accounting staff and any other duties as
delegated.
