Senior Accountant Vacancy (African Steel)

 

 

Location: Harare
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in Accounting/Finance

 

 

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead accounting functions with accuracy and efficiency.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

• Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

  • Conduct variance analysis and provide financial insights to management

  • Manage budgets and cash flow monitoring

• Compliance and Audits

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements

  • Support external and internal audits, prepare documentation, and resolve audit queries

  • Maintain accurate financial records and internal controls

• Operations and Account Management

  • Oversee daily accounting operations (AP/AR, general ledger, reconciliations)

  • Monitor cost controls and assist in process improvements

  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff

 

 

Other Duties

 

 

• Perform additional tasks and financial projects as assigned by senior management

 

 

Requirements

 

 

• Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field

• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on accounting experience

• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills

• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills

• Professional certifications (ACCA/CIMA/CA) are an added advantage
