Triangle Limited Reports to: Senior Cattle Manager
Purpose of Role
To supervise the day-to-day operations of the Estate abattoirs and butcheries to achieve hygienic slaughter, quality customer service, sales, and profit objectives under the direction of the Senior Cattle Manager.
Key Responsibilities
⦁ Supervises the day-to-day operations of the butcheries and abattoirs to achieve customer service, sales, and profit objectives.
⦁ Monitors and reviews ways to improve butchery and abattoir standards and systems.
⦁ Ensures that orders are processed and dispatched professionally and timeously.
⦁ Controls inventory to ensure proper product levels, and that quality and freshness are always maintained.
⦁ Ensures functionality of machinery and equipment, including cold storage facilities, and promptly attends to or reports breakdowns.
⦁ Prepares budgets, production work plans, block test analysis, daily sales reconciliation and weekly reports for the butcheries and abattoirs.
⦁ Develops controls to manage the budget, overtime and leave balances.
⦁ Monitors compliance to SHE and sanitation standards by Butchery and Abattoir staff.
⦁ Provides reports on livestock slaughter and sales. Identifies training & development needs of subordinate staff.
Qualifications and Experience
⦁ A diploma in Meat Science and Processing or related qualification. §
⦁ Minimum of 5 years of retail-related meat and/or food service in a high-volume food service operation.
⦁ Ability to work with minimum supervision.
⦁ Good customer service and effective leadership skills.
⦁ Effective stakeholder engagement
