Job Title: FINANCE MANAGER
Role Purpose:
The incumbent will provide strategic financial leadership, ensure sound financial management, safeguard company assets, and support operational efficiency in a multi-currency, highly competitive petroleum trading environment, including compliance with Zimbabwean financial regulations and effective forex and cashflow management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare annual financial plans, budgets and forecasts, and monitor performance through variance analysis and periodic budget updates.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, maintaining accurate and complete financial records and audit-ready documentation.
- Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, including ZIMRA/ZERA/RBZ requirements, and submit tax returns, VAT and excise duty reports within prescribed timelines.
- Manage daily cashflow and oversee treasury and forex management to secure fuel imports, mitigate exchange rate risks, and liaise with banks for facilities and letters of credit.
- Drive cost control and optimisation by analysing cost centres, implementing cost-saving initiatives, and negotiating improved vendor terms.
- Strengthen internal controls and risk management through regular risk assessments, fraud prevention controls, and oversight of audits with implementation of corrective actions.
Requirements
- A Master’s Degree in finance or a commercial related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting.
- CA/ACCA/CIMA/CFA or related professional certification will be an added advantage.
- At least 8 years’ progressive and demonstrable experience in regulated industries (petroleum, mining, energy, FMCG) is strongly preferred.
- Must be familiar with ERP systems such as Navision or Dynamics 365.
- Analytical & detail-oriented with ability to interpret financial statements and identify and effectively manage risks.
- A team player who can interact confidently at all levels.
- Must have a clean professional record and be able to demonstrate capacity for maintaining high professional and moral standards.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting/forecasting, financial software with strong analytical, leadership and communication skills.
