Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily mining activities including drilling, blasting, hauling, and extraction.
• Develop strategies to meet production targets, minimize down time and monitor ore quality.
• Optimize resource usage, manage budgets and cost control in the allocated section.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to the mining team ensuring they are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
• Compliance to statutory mining regulations, safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
• Enforce safety protocols in the section, that is PPE usage and conduct HIRA and comply with SHEQ standards in line with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards as well as other relevant legal frameworks.

Requirements

• BSc (Hons) degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• At least five (5) years progressive experience.
• Full Blasting License.
• A valid first aid certificate.
