To support the General Manager in the provision of company secretarial services. This role provides professional secretarial and administrative support to the Board, Board Committees and the wider organization, ensuring the effective functioning of the organization governance framework. The legal officer will also be assigned legal work as needed. The Legal Officer assists in crucial strategic and operational decisions, that ensure governance of the organization runs smoothly and in compliance with the legal and regulatory policies, procedures and rules.
Key Responsibilities
- i. Coordinating and managing board and stakeholders’ meetings.
- ii. Maintaining governance documentation and ensuring compliance with corporate governance best practices.
- iii. Ensuring compliance with corporate governance laws, regulations and compliance frameworks.
- iv. Assisting in the drafting and review of various legal and governance documents.
- v. Providing legal drafting, advisory and litigation support as required.
- vi. Ensuring proper handling and safe keeping of documents.
- vii. Any other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- i. 3 Advanced level subjects.
- ii. Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree or equivalent.
- iii. Member of the Law Society of Zimbabwe in good standing.
- iv. Master’s and/or professional qualification an added advantage.
- v. Minimum 5 years post admission working experience in corporate governance or legal environment.
- vi. Experience in corporate law and governance principles.
- i. Excellent minute taking, drafting and communication skills.
- ii. High attention to detail and organisational skills.
- iii. Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- iv. Professional integrity and strong interpersonal skills.
- v. Handle confidential information.
- vi. Possesses strong soft skills.
