C. SURVEY TECHNICIAN (GRADE 9)
REPORTS TO THE DISTRICT PLANNER
Key Responsibilities
- Data collection and surveying.
- GIS mapping and Analysis
- Data management
- Provision of technical support to council
- Preparation of project reports and presentations
- Engage with stakeholders or clients regarding survey findings
- Conduct quality assessments of GIS outputs and survey results
- Digitizing of layout plans
- Pegging of stands at designated centers
- Preparation of base maps
- Preparation of pegging plans
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Surveying/Geo Informatics and Surveying, or Equivalent.
- Proficiency in GIS software
- Familiarity with GPS, total stations and other surveying tools
- Strong analytical skills to interpret geographic data and statistics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and client interactions
- At least 27 years old and mature
- 3+ years’ experience in the GIS/surveying environment
- No criminal record
- Class 4/2 drivers license
- Local government experience is an added advantage
