Sandawana Mines – Laboratory Manager (D3)

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and qualified Laboratory Manager (D3) to join our Team based in Sandawana, Mberengwa reporting to the General Manager
Roles & Responsibilities

Manage effectively the operation of the laboratory.

Manages implementation of SHEQ programs within the Laboratory to achieve desired targets.

Plans/develops and coordinates implementation of Laboratory systems, policies and procedures in line with Sandawana strategy, customer requirements and international standards / best practice.

Ensures Laboratory processes are adequately resourced to achieve the required standard of operations.

Delegates authorities whilst retaining overall responsibility for Laboratory processes.

Manages staff discipline, motivation, performance of subordinates and succession planning within the Laboratory.

Reviews Laboratory performance, identifies and manages implementation of continual improvement initiatives.

Approves test reports and/or certificates of analysis for all internal and external customers.

Maintains open and constructive communication with customers and/or service providers.
About You
-
B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry or equivalent qualification is required; MSc is an added advantage.

Qualifications in Quality Management Systems (ISO 17025, ISO 9001) including internal auditing are required.

5 years hands on experience preferably in a similar position.

Instrumentation: Prior exposure to AAS, XRD, ICP-OES.
