The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (“ZSE”) is the largest stock exchange in Zimbabwe. The exchange is undergoing a transformational journey and is evolving and extending its service offering through the addition of new products and services that include:

• Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX)

• Mobile trading platforms (ZSE Direct and VFEX Direct)

• Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)

• Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs)

• Contract for Differences (CFDs) and

• Commodities Exchange

Function

 

 

The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to play a crucial role in its digital transformation. This hybrid position involves managing modern cloud infrastructure and contributing to internal application development. The successful candidate will work within the development team to automate, streamline, and support new platforms, while also managing and maintaining the organization’s cloud-hosted systems.

 

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

 

• Building, automating, and maintaining infrastructure for all applications and services to ensure maximum stability and efficiency.

• Deepening knowledge of capital markets while championing modern DevOps principles and practices.

Responsibilities

 

 

• Manage and support the organization’s cloud-hosted systems and applications, proactively troubleshooting issues and ensuring high performance.

• Manage the organization’s cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, high availability, and cost optimization.

• Assist in the design, development, and deployment of applications and internal systems.

• Champion and build out the automation strategy, designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for rapid and reliable software releases.

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles for consistent and repeatable infrastructure provisioning.

• Foster a strong DevOps culture of collaboration, communication, and knowledge sharing between development and operations teams.

• Assist in database administration tasks, including automation, monitoring, and performance tuning solutions.

• Provide technical support and guidance to ensure seamless operation of all ICT systems.

Qualifications/Experience

 

 

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a reputable university.

• At least 2+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or similar role.

• Proven experience with major cloud platforms (specifically AWS).

• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

• Hands-on software development experience, with proficiency in two or more of the following: Java, PHP, C#, Angular, Spring Boot, and Laravel.

• Practical experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.

• Solid knowledge of Infrastructure Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Relevant certifications in AWS, Kubernetes, or other DevOps tools are a significant advantage.
