Sunway City (Pvt) Ltd is a leading developer of integrated industrial parks and Special Economic Zones (SEZ’s) in Zimbabwe, committed to excellence in infrastructure development and property management. We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Legal and Compliances Officer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring that our company operates within the law and complies with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
⦁ Legal Advisory: Provide legal counsel on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
⦁ Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate various types of contracts and agreements, ensuring the company’s interests are protected and promoted.
⦁ Compliances: Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures and checklists to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory obligations.
⦁ Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
⦁ Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary contact with regulatory bodies and manage legal and compliance audits.
⦁ Dispute Resolution: Handle any litigation, arbitration, or mediation processes involving the company.
⦁ Corporate Governance: Support the board of directors and senior management in corporate governance matters.
⦁ Company Secretarial Work: Assist and support the Company Secretary in the discharge of Corporate Secretarial work.

Qualifications and Experience:
⦁ Bachelor Laws Honours Degree (LLBs) (Hons). A Master’s degree in Law or Business Administration will be an added advantage.
⦁ Registered legal practitioner with at least 5 years of experience in legal practice and corporate in-house legal counsel and advisory work.
⦁ Sound knowledge of Zimbabwean law, particularly in corporate, commercial, and regulatory compliances.
⦁ Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
⦁ Minutes taking experience and capacity.
⦁ Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
⦁ High level of integrity and professional ethics.
