MINING PRODUCTION SHIFT BOSS

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent – Production, the job is based at the Mine and is responsible for the following:

Summary of Duties:

⦁ Coordinating and overseeing the implementation through planning, organizing, and controlling the requisite mining operations.
⦁ Ensuring appropriate mining systems are in place for production purposes.
⦁ Ensuring efficient and effective utilization of mining equipment to ensure full utilization within the prescribed limits.
⦁ Actively working with contractors to optimize performance, reliability and minimize costs.
⦁ Effective interface with support functions and other departments to facilitate the coordination and execution of work to optimize operations.
⦁ Production of mining reports with detailed recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

⦁ Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
⦁ Full/Surface Endorsed Mine Blasting Licence.
⦁ At least 5 years experience in open pit/surface mining operations.
⦁ Effective leadership and communication skills.
⦁ Sound knowledge of SHEQ Management Systems.
