Pelcravia Enterprises P/L t/a Star International a Company in the Transport and Logistics Sector
seeks suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacancy which have arisen
within our organization:

Key Result Areas
Responsible for fleet repair and maintenance and ensuring The Company fleet has a minimum down
time.

Duties
• Carry out Pre- Trip checks on all vehicles to ensure that no truck leaves the workshop with
known defects.
• Building and Assembling engines and mechanical components according to requirements.
• Conduct machine vehicle repairs aiming for maximum reliability.
• Carry out Post – Trip checks on vehicles, engines, transmissions etc. to detect any
functionality issues; ensure that all noted defects are resolved within expected timelines.
• Perform periodic maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems to ensure maximum
reliability.
• Check and replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.
• Provide consultation on correct usage and maintenance and preventative measures to
machine and/ or vehicle users.
• Keep logs of work carried out and spares used.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience
• 5 years of proven experience in the transport industry as a Mechanic.
• Excellent knowledge of Detroit Engines DD15, Freightliner Trucks N14 Cummins engines and
other systems and their components.
• Valid certification Class One Journeyman
• Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision
measurement tools (e.g., calipers)
• Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instructions, blueprints etc.
• A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
• Exceptionally good communication skills
• A problem-solving ability
• Working knowledge of Cummins and Detroit Engines including DD15 engines for truck.
• Class 2 Drivers license is an added advantage.
