RESPONSIBILITY

Responsible to the Commercial Investigations Manager

KEY JOB PURPOSE

To ensure safety and protection of assets both human and financial through regular reviews, application and implementa­tion of sound security and investigative strategies, company policies and control systems designed by management with a view to get continued value from all operations.

PRINCIPAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Carries out investigations on allegations of violation of policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, rules and regulations in area of jurisdiction or in other regions on the instruction of the Loss Control Manager;
  2. Attends to scenes of crime and gathering evidence;
  3. Enforces policies which are aimed at protecting all NetOne assets from theft or pilferage;
  4. Deploys and supervises security personnel at Base Stations and NetOne Shops in respective zones;
  5. Implements policies and strategics which mitigate against economical threats to the organization;
  6. Collects data on new crime trends relating to breaches, vandalism and theft at NetOne Shops, Base Stations and other key installations and advise management of these new trends;
  7. Carries out employee, customer and supplier enhanced due diligence to eliminate habits that are vulnerable to theft/ pilferage;
  8. Liaises with relevant government institutions in developing strategies which will curb vandalism and theft at base stations in respective areas of jurisdiction;
  9. Carries out security inspections and surveys atNelOne installations in areas of jurisdictions or any other regions;
  10. Conducts crime awareness campaigns and cultivates a culture of responsibility and integrity amongst members of staff;
  11. Conducts adhoc checks at shops, all warehouses and Base Stations.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Police and Security Studies or Forensic Science or Business Administration or Criminology’ or equivalent;
  • Proven membership to at least one professional body;
  • Knowledge or experience in the Telecommunication industry is an added advantage;
  • Prosecutorial experience is an added advantage;
  • 5-10 years working experience in the law enforcement industry preferably in the Criminal Investigations Department.

COMPETENCIES

  • Must have a thorough understanding of telecommunications market trends and related dynamics and be able to advise Management accordingly on emerging loss prevention strategies;
  • Good communication and relational skills;
  • Ability to work with minimum or no supervision;
  • Ability to analyze and deal with complex business issues as needed;
  • Experience in business improvement or process implementation is required.
