Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced personnel to the IT Manager position at the Cotton Company of Zimbabwe (COTTCO)

The IT Manager is to provide the organization with secure, effective and efficient IT solutions to meet company objectives and overseeing all computer-related activities, providing thought leadership (operational and tactical focus) for IT resources.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Supervising the development of new applications for the business.
  •Aligning IT infrastructure with current and future business requirements and goals
  •Assigning appropriate system privileges to individual users according to company IT policy.
  •Managing IT systems and data security.
  •Monitoring overall system performance.
  •Checking that daily backups are done and to the required standard.
  •Ensuring that workstations and servers are loaded with appropriate software.
  •Reviewing sectional policies annually-IT policy, disaster recovery policy.
  •Liaising with external services providers to address business IT requirements.
  •Conducting Disaster Recovery Plan tests with users.
  •Providing user support for high-level applications.
  •Coordinating the training of users when there are new applications/changes to existing system.
  •Preparing the section budget.
  •Carrying out company IT preventative maintenance.
  •Developing section strategy for input into the overall company strategy.

Qualifications And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  •3-5 years of experience working in IT operations
  •Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
  •Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems.
  •Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  •Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
  •Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
