JOB DESCRIPTION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following post of ACCOUNTANT – BULAWAYO REGIONAL OFFICE x 1 that has arisen within the Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (ZIMDEF).

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that branch accounts and records are complete, accurate and compliant with the Fund’s policies and guidelines
• Meeting all relevant statutory and internal submission deadlines
• Establishing budgetary control measures and cash flow forecast for the branch
• Approving all budget entries and release in the systems
• Reviewing monthly bank reconciliation statements and ensuring that they are up to date
• Attending to issues relating to bank statements and liaising with the bank
• Debt management to include debt follow-ups on high levy contributors
• Checking all ledgers and control accounts for completeness of transactions
• Ensuring that all transactions are properly captured in system
• Preparation of financial and management reports
• Real Estates Management
• Conducting routine asset verifications and reconciliations Ensuring that all Finance and Administration systems are operating optimally and that challenges thereto are identified timeously
• Managing and monitoring staff performance within the section

Qualifications, Competencies and Work Competencies

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
• A relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience
• Polished professional with outgoing attitude and an excellent team player
• Demonstrated excellent organizational, coordinating and personal interface skills.
• Clean class four (4) driver’s licence
