INVITATION TO BID: CARE START FOR GIRLS PROJECT IN MUTARE AND BUHERA:
Development of viable Village Saving and Lending Association (VSLA) model and production of Women Economic Empowerment training manuals for the Supporting Transition, Retention and Training for Girls (START4Girls) Project in Buhera and Mutare Districts.
CARE International in Zimbabwe seeks to appoint a qualified and experienced consultant who should be able to develop a technically viable Village Savings and Lending Associations (VSLA) and Income Generating model (IGAs) suitable for Mutare and Buhera communities, schools and Vocational and technical institutions. The consultant should be able to come up with training content and materials(modules) for VSLA and IGAs. The consultant should also be abl e to. recommend the best Villag e savings and lending and IGA model(s) for rolling out to the rest of the communities, in Mutare and Buhera. for the Global Affairs Canada funded project Supporting Transition Attendance Retention and training of girls and young women including the disabled. The ultimate outcome of the START for girls project is improved attendance, retention, completion and transition by adolescent girls and young women, including those with disabilities, within, across and beyond educational learning pathways in crisis affected communities ofZimbabwe.
Objectives of this Consultancy are to:
- Come up with a technically viable VSLA and Income generating model(s) suitable for the Mutare and Buhera communities, schools and Vocational and technical schools.
- Develop suitable training content and materials (modules) for VSLA and IGAS
- Test the selected VSALs and Income generating models in selected communities, schools and Technical and vocational centres in the two districts of Mutare and Buhera.
- Link community VSLAs and IGA groups to school resilient IGA projects
- Recommend the best Village savings and lending and IGA model(s)for rolling out to the rest of the communities, schools and vocational training centres in Mutare and Buhera.
