About the Organisation
Youth Forum Zimbabwe is a non-profit making organization that was formed in August 2004. It was formed as a response to the social exclusion of youth in political processes in Zimbabwe. The overall aim of the Youth Forum Zimbabwe is to enhance youth participation and empowerment in policy-dialogue and political decision-making. Youth Forum Zimbabwe is a membership-based, mandate-driven organization led by; and for the young people in Zimbabwe. Its members are passionate and committed to amplifying and strengthening the voice of the Zimbabwean youth within the political landscape.
Duties and Responsibilities
To provide ICT-enabled communications, information sharing and networking support to Youth Forum; To promote the visibility of the organisation’s profile and work; To coordinate the development of the Youth Forum’s communications strategy for increased visibility and impact; To write himself and support members in writing media advisories, press releases, backgrounders, and letters to the editor, opinion articles and pitches these materials to the targeted audiences; To coordinate responses to media requests, write and coordinate the production of the Youth Forums communication materials; To edit, proofread and publish Youth Forum publications, including reports, booklets, information sheets, Q&A documents and briefing papers; To manage, design and evaluate usability and impact of the Youth Forum website with a bias towards Youth Forum members through involving them in the organisations campaign work; To establish and maintain online platforms to engage with Youth Forums members, networks and spheres of influence
Person specifications
- A degree or diploma in journalism/ mass communication
- A strong command of the English language
