Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognised university.
• Professional certifications in accounting such as CA, ACCA, CIMA or CIS a must.
• Excellent communication Skills.
• Highly competent in Excel Spreadsheets and accounting packages (Pastel Evolution an advantage).
• Must have at least 5 years experience at management level in the FMCG sector.
• Must be 30 — 45 years of age.

Job Specification

Principal Responsibilities 

1. Management
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Manage cash flows and working capital
• Oversee Treasury Operations
• Oversee transaction processing, Accounts Payables, Financial and Management Accounting

2. Budgeting & Reporting 
• Manage the preparation of the company’s budgets
• Report to Management on variances from budget and the reasons for variances
• Assist Management in the formulation of the company’s strategic direction
• Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports
• Review product costs and pricing in line with changes in the economy

3. Financial Analysis 
• Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company’s operations
• Interpret the company’s financial results to Management and recommend improvements
• Perform additional analyses and produce reports as requested by Management

4. Regulatory and Compliance 
• Oversee all statutory returns including Tax, NSSA, Levies and any other returns as required by legislation

5. Financial Controls 
• Deploy and monitor effective companywide internal controls to safeguard cash, inventories and non-current assets.
