Accountant: Local Organization

A local NGO is seeking to recruit a candidate to fill the position of Accountant to be based in Manicaland Province to support a program aimed at ending child marriages and all forms of violence against girls and young women.
Job Purpose
The Accountant is responsible for planning income and expenditure. He/she ensures that purchases made within the framework of the project are in accordance with donor guidelines. He/she is also responsible for accounting and documentation of expenditure.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual individual donor financial reports as per grant agreement or MoU; To effectively implement financial and administrative procedures as per approved organizational policies, procedures, systems or methods; To maintain a comprehensive budget control system adoptive to donor requirements; Preparation of Bank Reconciliation statements on a monthly basis.
Qualifications and Experience Required
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting; Part-completion of a professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA); 3 years professional experience in the financial management of donor funded projects in an NGO environment; Experience with Sage Pastel. Must have a clean Class 4 driver’s license.
