Key Responsibilities
- Manages the procurement and purchasing process in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Sources suppliers and obtains competitive quotations for goods and services
- Evaluates supplier proposals and recommends cost-effective purchasing decisions
- Negotiates prices, delivery terms, and contracts with suppliers
- Prepares purchase orders and ensures timely procurement of required items
- Monitors inventory levels and coordinates replenishment to avoid stock shortages
- Maintains accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and purchasing documentation
- Tracks supplier performance and ensures compliance with agreed service levels
- Coordinates the receipt and inspection of goods to ensure quality and accuracy
- Ensures compliance with procurement regulations, internal controls, and budget requirements
Requirements
- Degree in Procurement, Purchasing & Supply, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional qualification such as CIPS is an added advantage
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract administration
- Experience in sourcing, vendor evaluation, and negotiation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and procurement systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Knowledge of inventory management and cost control principles is an added advantage
