Position Summary
Responsible for coordinating the organisation’s work in policy, advocacy, communications and public engagement. The role will lead on enhancing ZNNP+’s influence and position as a leading PLHIV-focused organisation across the country.
Job Description
Coordinate ZNNP+ Policy, Advocacy and Communications efforts; Ensure ZNNP+’s communication strategy and plan are impact based and further leveraging our digital and social media footprint; Ensure that our policy, advocacy, communication and public engagement interventions can contribute to our overall resource development strategy and revenue generation; Through various communication channels, the work and impact of ZNNP+ are effectively profiled and contribute to an improved understanding, support and engagement from individuals, partners and stakeholders; Ensure that PLHIV voices are represented through local level advocacy efforts and local-national-global linkages; Build strategic partnerships with civil society, donors, government and corporations, UN entities and other organisations to enhance collective response to HIV/ AIDS; Provide support in development of grant proposals; In times of emergency responses, support messaging and policy briefs in collaboration with partners; Support assessment and research activities to gather information and analysis that would inform policy and advocacy briefing documents, assessment reports, and research papers; Ensure there is a yearly communication and digital platform action plan with deliverables in place; Ensure more field-based staff receive basic training and support so they can more effectively capture information and visuals that can be used across our various communications platforms – focus more on “telling the story from the field” and ensure the voices of PLHIV are heard
Qualifications
University Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Journalism, development studies, International Relations, Communications or its equivalent; A postgraduate qualification is a plus; At least two (2) years’ experience in policy, advocacy, campaigns, and communications, as well as government and stakeholder engagement; Experience of working in an NGO in the same or related capacity; Understanding of social accountability methodologies; Ability to engage at a strategic level and build collaborative relationships with government, donors, media and peer agencies; Experience in developing an array of communication materials such as publications, video segments, web and other modern media; Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; Confident presentation and facilitation skills, proven record in provision of trainings a plus; Demonstrated commitment to working with PLHIV (including key populations, women, children and youths).
