VMMC Roving Nurses x21: Zimbabwe Association of Church-Related Hospitals (ZACH)

Job Purpose
This position is responsible for providing skilled male circumcision services to the eligible persons in ZACH supported districts Zimbabwe.
Responsibilities
To participate in VMMC service delivery as follows:
MC Procedure
Participate in VMMC activities in ZACH designated sites, and during outreach activities and mass circumcision campaigns; Perform tasks related to the MC procedure such as giving local anaesthesia, surgery, suturing, device placement and removal, dressing and postoperative client management; Prepare materials required for the MC procedures to be performed; Sterilization and disposal of surgical products and medical waste
Mobilisation
Actively Participate demand creation activities to mobilise clients requiring the service; Support community mobilisers and regularly assist in sourcing and distributing relevant demand creation IEC material
Counselling
Provide pre-, intra and post-operative VMMC counselling; Post-operative follow-up of clients and appropriate referral where necessary
Infection control
Collaborate with other hospital/clinic staff to ensure stringent infection control is maintained; Ensure adequate levels of infection control at the service delivery sites are promoted and maintained
Other duties as assigned
Assist the VMMC team leader in preparing and transmitting monthly and quarterly reports in a timely manner; Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
