VEHICLE WORKSHOP FOREMAN:
PATTERSON GRADE C
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the above position that has arisen at our Head Office.
Main purpose of the Job
To ensure the availability of vehicles and yard equipment to user departments. The successful candidates will report to the Supply Chain Director.
Essential Competencies and Requirements:
- Diploma or National Certificate in Motor Mechanics/ Automotive Engineering.
- Should be a qualified Artisan with at least 5 years post apprenticeship experience.
- Management degree is a distinct advantage.
- 2 ‘A’ level passes including English and Mathematics at 0 Level.
- Must have a Supervisory qualification and experience.
- Be in a possession of a Clean Class (2) driver’s license.
- Should be computer literate.
- Knowledge of Safety, Health and Environment and proven IMS systems knowhow.
- A self-starter with a high sense of responsibility and custodianship of company assets.
- A clean and traceable employment record.
Key Performance Areas:
- Responsible for all maintenance and repair works carried out on vehicles/ units in accordance with company procedures and programmes.
- To assist in planning, organizing, controlling of all vehicle services and repairs including annual maintenance, painting, and any other programmes timeously.
- Enforce and institute correct workshop safety and housekeeping procedures by recommending new and improved safety procedures.
- Identifying training needs and recommend staff for formal training and
- To ensure that no vehicles/ units are released without passing the necessary quality and process tests.
- Supervise and subordinates including trainees and students attached to workshops.
- Investigate and generate quality failure analysis reports for all vehicle/ unit failure.
- Strict adherence to the IMS system.
