WORKS DEPARTMENT
TOWN PLANNING TECHNICIAN (GRADE 13) – 1 POST
Qualifications and attributes
- Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning from a recognized institution or equivalent
- At least two (2) years’ experience
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision
- Computer literate
- A citizen of Zimbabwe
- A clean criminal record
- A clean record of service
- A clean class 4 driver’s licence
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparation and updating of layout plans, site plan and base maps
- Plan filing
- Collection of data for use in the planning process
- Drawing up of development conditions for lease application
- Drawing up of technical information required for meetings with other Local Authorities, Government Ministries and other stakeholders
- Processing of subdivision and consolidation applications
- Facilitation of surveys
- Carrying out development control in terms of Regional Town and Country Planning Act Chapter 29:12
- Maintenance and updating of Council stand register
- Administering the process of building plan approval
- Any other duties assigned by the Engineer
