Urban Planning in the Local Authority Area.

Duties And Responsibilities

 Preparation of layout plans for residential, commercial, industrial, institutional and other ancillary uses

 Assessment of land use site and production of site plans and production of site plans

 Assist in the assessment of building plans submitted for approval

 Assist land surveyor in carrying out topographical and cadastral surveys

 Assist in the production of Master and local plans according to the Regional Town Country Act Chapter 29:12

 Development control

 Assist in the processing of subdivision of land, change of use and special consent applications

 Receiving and attending to queries and forward to the Town Planner

 Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications And Experience

 A Diploma in Rural and Urban Planning or equivalent from recognised institute of learning

 A minimum of 5 years working experience in a spatial planning position

 A clean record of service and experience in Local Government is and added advantage

 Knowledge of GIS, Autocard and 3D draughting software

 Sound knowledge of preparation of traffic design town planning layout and draughting

 Membership of ZIRUP

 Clean criminal record

 Class four driver’s license
