We are looking for an experienced and professional stock controller to join our organization. The stock controller will be responsible for maintaining the supply and demand of inventory, and ensuring that there are adequate stocks available. The stock controller will also ensure stock purchasing, delivery and shipping confirmations, and manage inventory balances. The ideal candidate will be able to keep a complete and detailed database of inventory and supply documentation, but will also be on the ground floor of receiving to personally inspect and confirm supply quality and delivery.

Stock Clerk Duties and Responsibilities

• Enter shipping and inventory data in the computer system
• Manage purchasing orders for incoming equipment, services, and supplies
• Verify receipts and confirm purchase contents and orders are complete
• Remove inventory from shipment delivery trucks
• Ensure supplied stocks meet demand
• Prevent overstocking and ordering
• Keep track of inventory and supplies that need restocking
• Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies
• Create and maintain a detailed inventory list of all incoming, outgoing, and current supplies
• Prepare inventory for deliveries and shipping
• Ensure correct inventory is loaded into correct delivery trucks
• Track and ensure deliveries are received
• Compile reports inventory and supply balances
• Make note of damaged inventory
• Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
• Manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked products inventory including stock profiles and stock locations
• Manage and control perpetual inventory stock counting/ inventory accuracy checks
• Minimize overstocks and removal of obsolete / redundant raw materials to maximize availability of working capital
• Ensure that goods inwards/stock control department is well organized and controlled to sufficiently support workshop production, sales and the goals of the business.
• Provide routine management information on inventory performance
  • Monitor and evaluate consumable usage & costs
  • Monitor & evaluate material utilization and scrap
• Perform cyclic stock checks.
• Achieve a minimum of 95% inventory record accuracy.

Stock Controller Requirements and Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in business or related field a plus
• (5) years’ experience as a stock controller, receiver, or related position
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
• Must be able to Use Pastel Evolution.
• Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the course of the shift
• Physically able to lift up to 10 kg or more
• Able to pass drug test/background check
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work night, weekends, extended hours, and holidays

• Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
• Good interpersonal skills to work with management and staff at all levels
