Our client is an international company expanding their team within Zimbabwe looking for experienced and qualified Senior Software Developer to join their team. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the operations and fiscal health of the Development Team. The Software Developer is responsible for overseeing and leading the work of the team. The nature of the business means that we work with multiple industries that require integrating with third party systems using multitude of protocols and APIs. The Development Team work within an Agile team running weekly sprints and directly help our Business Analysts deliver customer enhancements and work within an existing codebase. This role is significant in the development of new releases to our so ware packages and bespoke systems.
Accountability and Main Responsibilities:
Design new software & software modification based on the functional specification provided.
Develop new so ware & software modification using the packages and environments chosen by the Company.
Check the quality and integrity of other developers’ work.
Ongoing maintenance of the developed software.
Plan and evaluate work including providing estimations and offering technical solutions.
Develop documentation to assist users.
Align application design with business goals.
Handover of work to the test team with a recorded demo.
Continuously support to the test team during the testing stage with any setup, configuration, processes and/or bugs investigations.
When reviewing another developer’s code you must check the quality and structure of the code. In addition it is expected to consider scenarios where the code may fail and feed back to the other developer.
Provide examples of test data the Developers use for their unit testing where possible.
Qualifications or practical experience with:
Enterprise and core Java 7 or 8; Multithreading; Tomcat; JavaScript; SQL; HTML/CSS; Transactions; ORM.
It is advantageous to have knowledge of: Postgres; Netsuite; ZPL; SOAPand; Android; Selenium; Res ul APIs; Linux.
