River Monitor

DUTIES

• Patrol rivers and all water sources in the sub catchment
• Report on water usage;
• Report on illegal water abstractions and issue tickets.
• Facilitate water permit applications and assist in water dispute resolution
• Record water flow meter readings, gauging weir flows and dam levels
• Update water permit registers and database.
• Deliver invoices and documentation from admin-clerk to surface and ground water permit holders.
• Work closely with ZINWA hydrological observers on data collection and protection of gauging stations.
• Any other duties assigned by the Sub Catchment Manager

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma in Agriculture/Water Resources Management/Geography and Environmental Studies/Environmental or Natural Resources Management or relevant studies
• 5 ordinary levels including Maths, English and Geography
• Relevant experience in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) or working with similar structures or institutions will be an added advantage
• Class 3 Drivers’ Licence is a MUST
