QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Five ‘O’ Level subjects including Mathematics and English Language.
Any relevant qualification is an added advantage.
3 years of relevant working experience in a Higher and Tertiary Education setup.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Hall Janitor shall assist the warden to provide mentorship to students in halls of residence and build a conducive atmosphere to enable students to pursue their academic and social lives.
The Janitor will assist the warden to manage the hall effectively.
Monitors entrants to the halls of residences and keeps a log of such entrants.
Ensures consumables such as tissue paper and bulbs get to the sub-wardens for distribution among members of the hall.
Gives out keys to students allocated rooms in halls of residences.
Ensures residence assets are kept safely and maintains a register of such assets.
Reports any misuse and breakages of hall facilities to the Warden and to the Director of Works and Estates.
Receives and checks out any visitors booked in the halls of residences.
Liaises with the Warden, Chief Nursing Sister and Chief Security Officer in cases of illness and serious breaches of security respectively.
Raises the alarm in cases of fire outbreak and other emergencies and assists students in evacuating the halls of residences.
Maintains student notice boards in halls of residences.
Carries out any other duty assigned by the warden.
Daily Temperature checks for all students
Ensures all Covid 19 preventative regulations are adhered to.
